Belize
Belize City itself is no longer the nation's capital, but remains the commercial capital and home to the largest sea port and airport in the country and location of the Belize Tourism Village where most cruise ships dock.
Belmopan
Belmopan is just a short drive from the Mountain Pine Forest Reserve, home to Central America's tallest waterfalls. Belmopan is also home to a community center, a large library, and the George Price Centre for Peace and Development, named for the country's first prime minister.
Stann Creek
Excellent water sports, the best beaches in Belize, boating, fishing, diving and easy access to the Cockscomb Jaguar Preserve and other natural areas make the Stann Creek Creek district one of the most desirable areas of Belize for vacation, investment or retirement.
Toledo
Toledo is well known for its sports fishing and today fishermen still practice traditional small-scale fishing from their dug-out canoes, as well as diving for conch, lobster and sea cucumber. Located north of Punta Gorda Town, the Port Honduras Marine Reserve is a protected area.
Orange Walk
The Orange Walk district is also well known for its cattle and rum production. The Orange Walk District, with a population of just over forty thousand, is the country's third largest populated district and is much more than sugar, soybean and honey country.
Corozal
Traditionally the heart of the country's sugar growing and processing industry, Corozal today is more well-known for its Free Zone at the border crossing with Mexico.
Cayo
Whether it's canoeing or tubing, Cayo has you covered. With its dynamic mountainous terrain, Cayo is also home to a number of spectacular waterfalls that travelers can hike to, especially in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. Here you can go hiking, explore caves or take a swim at Butterfly Falls.
